Data collection

HappyHan does not collect, store, or transmit personal information. The app works entirely on your device and does not require an account or an internet connection.

Camera

HappyHan can use your device's camera to read the mahjong tiles on the table and enter them for scoring. Tile recognition runs entirely on your device. Camera images are used only for that recognition, are never uploaded or shared, and are discarded when recognition completes. You can use the app without granting camera access by entering tiles by hand.

Data stored on your device

Your preferences and in-app choices, such as your saved hands and your scoring rules, are stored on your device and are deleted with the app. What the camera trial and the camera unlock need is kept in the device keychain instead: how many of the free camera sessions you have used, which scan the last one was counted against, and whether the unlock has been bought. The keychain is not part of the app, so those records survive deleting and reinstalling HappyHan, which is what lets a camera you have already paid for come back without a second purchase and stops a spent free trial from starting over. None of it is sent to HappyHan or to anyone else, and it travels only where the rest of your keychain does: into an encrypted backup of your device and onto the phone you restore that to.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. HappyHan never sees your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase information is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Children

HappyHan does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
